Front sight insert assortment set to fit our 17 series front sights, the Lyman 17a series, Browning BPCR, and others.
Front sight insert assortment set to fit front sights such as Lyman 17a series, Browning BPCR, my small 17 series sights and others.

It consists of ten inserts on one card, of which three are apertures, three are posts, a crosshair, and etc as seen in the picture.

The outer diameter of the inserts is .474" where it fits into the body of the sight. The two alignment tabs are on the centerline of the insert, and measure approximately 1/16" top to bottom. The inserts are made from .010" thick spring steel and are generally blue, but may vary in color from bright blue to a dull brown.

Because of the manufacturing process we use to make these insert sets the edge is not flat. It protrudes in the center so the aiming surface is actually narrower than the thickness of the insert, giving a sharp, clear sight picture.

Also because of the very thin nature of the inserts it is possible to install more than one insert at a time in most sights to allow customization of your sight picture. For instance I use the middle and large ring apertures together to make the annulus appear heavier and easier to see in all light.

    Nice assortment of reticles. I am using a combination of two of them which works just perfect for me. I am using them of my TC muzzleloader. Shooting 5 inch groups at 100 yards. That's pretty good for me, my best years of shooting are behind me.

    I was amazed at the quality of these inserts, very crisp and 100% quality!!! I would highly recommend these inserts, they are very thin and do not block much from your view through the globe. I removed a lyman insert to put one of these in and went back to hitting bullseyes with no adjustments!

    I've got 6 or seven of the insert cards for various sights. They are far better than the limited selection and style of the inserts that come with the lyman sight, and a very reasonable price. the cross hair / aperture design makes it easier to get a good sight picture.

    The inserts are perfectly designed and allow clear and sharp sight pictures. The inserts that came with my front sights blocked out much of the visibility and were almost useless compared with this set. Very happy with these and they arrived within 3 days after ordering.

    The thin rings allow a much better view of the target than the stock Lyman inserts, and the post & bead inserts are much finer than the stock, hard-to-find originals, allowing more precise targeting. All appear perfectly registered so there's no detectable shift of zero when switching out apertures.
